Ballista’s Nautilus Rotating Rail is the automat of handguards. Mount your lights, lasers, grips and optics on the 8 1913 rail sections, then rotate the handguard on the barrel to position the devices on the fly.

There are two independently 360-degree rotating sections, fore and aft, each unlocked by its own push button that sits between the rotating sections. The system has stops every 45 degrees, and Ballista says the tolerances are tight enough to hold zero on an optic.

The handguard we saw is a 7-inch version that will fit a carbine length M4 gas system. Ballista says there are larger units on the way. Ballista Tactical offers the Nautilus Rotating Rail in four colors: dark earth, black, coyote tan and olive drab. The MSRP for the Nautilus Rotating Rail is $549.
