Glock donates $75,000 at Modern Day Marine
Glock executives and retired Gunnery Sgt. R. Lee Ermey, a Glock spokesman best known for his no-nonsense Hollywood persona, donated $50,000 Wednesday to the Young Marines.
Glock vice president Josh Dorsey presented the check to a handful of Young Marines during an afternoon ceremony at Marine Corps Base Quantico’s Iwo Jima memorial. It’s the sixth year running the company has donated to the organization bringing the grand total to $300,000.
Ermey, who is also a spokesman for the Young Marines, said the donation was generous and much needed support for an organization that aims to help kids develop into upstanding young adults. Young Marines is focused on helping kids across the country improve their mental, physical and moral fitness and is open to kids from eight years old through high school.
Glock also donated $25,000 to the Marine Corps League. Present to receive the check were Richard D. Gore, Sr., the league’s national judge advocate and James Laskey Sr. , the league’s past national commandant.
