Meet Chesty XIV, an adorable English Bulldog, who will eventually become the next Marine Corps mascot when he replaces retiring Sgt. Chesty XIII later this year.
Intercepts spotted Chesty in Washington on March 23 walking along 8th St. SE across from the Marine Corps Barracks. He was quite the hit with locals and tourists, not to mention other pups out for a Saturday stroll.
“He’s so scrunchy!” exclaimed one excited lunch goer as she abandoned her fish tacos to pet the pint-sized pup.
The four-legged recruit handled attention like a seasoned gunnery sergeant, stopping every 20 feet or so to say hello to fans.
