The 2012 election is not over. And, fittingly, the never-boring Sunshine State is in the spotlight.
There is mounting evidence the House Armed Services Committee soon will lose one of its top critics of President Obama.
After a partial recount, West trails his Democratic challenger, Patrick Murphy, by 1,907 votes, according to Florida media reports.
A Florida law mandates if a race’s margin is within 0.5 percent of the total votes cast, a total recount must occur. It appears the West-Murphy race will end up outside that margin.
If West ultimately is defeated, House Republicans will lose one of their top attack dogs. West had been highly critical of president Obama on myriad national security issues.
West has yet to concede the race.
