Photographs released by Zhuhai Airshow officials show a new model of the Shenyang J-31 stealth fighter. Though still in the development stage, the J-31 Falcon Eagle made its maiden flight in early November. The aircraft is remarkably similar to the Lockheed F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Defense News will be covering the Zhuhai Airshow all next week (Nov. 13-16).

I’ve now been told the J-31 model has been taken down and is being repainted jet black to look more like the fighter that flew in early November. I feel a little sorry for the guys who built it, now having to have to repaint it only two days before the show. But that’s show business!
