Raytheon Inks Missile Deal With Morocco
One the eve of the Farnborough International Airshow Raytheon has revealed it has done a deal with Morocco to equip the North Africa nation’s F-16 fleet with AIM-9X Block II air-to-air missile.
The U.S. missile maker said Morocco becomes the fourth country to sign up for the latest version of the short-range missile and the 10th country overall to buy the AIM-9X series.
The Block II adds a redesigned fuze with lock-on after launch and datalink capability compared with the Block I capability.
The new missile is in the operational test phase, Raytheon said in a statement released July 8.
