Tom Murphy
For the past 27 years, Mr. Murphy has been working with both technical and managerial disciplines across Commercial Industry, Federal Agencies and the Department of Defense providing innovative technology solutions, implementation and consulting services required by customers to fully realize the critical process improvements that enterprise-oriented information technologies can bring to their business environments. In 2001, Mr. Murphy served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Association for Enterprise Integration (AFEI). AFEI is an association for corporate and individual members whose common goal is to advance global enterprise integration and world class electronic business practices for industries and governments around the globe.
Currently (since November 2007), Mr. Murphy is a Senior Manager with Parametric Technology Corporation (Federal Aerospace and Defense Business Group) - a $1B technology company that has been providing and successfully delivering industry leading, enterprise-oriented, Product/Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) Solutions, Content Management & Dynamic Authoring/Publishing Solutions and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Solutions to Commercial, Federal and State Government clients for more than two decades.
From September 2006, and prior to his current employment with Parametric Technology Corporation, Mr. Murphy was Vice President for Program Operations with Amyx, Inc. – a woman-owned, 8a, Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) providing Professional Services to the Federal Government (primarily the DoD). Mr. Murphy was responsible for the management and successful, disciplined and repeatable delivery and profitability of all major Programs in the DoD, Federal and Commercial markets. In addition, he served as the accountable Business Development executive and was a key contributor in the planning and achievement of new business growth targets as well as the continued development and maturity of the corporate infrastructure.
From December 2002 and prior to his employment with Amyx, Inc., Mr. Murphy was Vice President for Corporate Development with Information Manufacturing Corporation where he has responsibility for the strategy and execution of the company’s Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Merger/Acquisition and Partnership/Alliance activities. Information Manufacturing Corporation is a small business headquartered in Rocket Center, West Virginia that specializes in enterprise-oriented document/data capture, conversion, mass storage and distribution/exploitation services for both Government and Commercial clientele. Information Manufacturing Corporation prides itself in the ability to transform all forms of data into useful and accessible information, made to order, to fit the unique enterprise needs of each of its customers.
From May 2001, and prior to his employment with Information Manufacturing Corporation, Mr. Murphy held a key position with Toshiba Corporation as a Vice President for Business Strategies where he had responsibility for leading a Team of Japanese expatriates and selected Toshiba executives from the Tokyo headquarters in a strategic Merger & Acquisition project focused on U.S. Business Service Providers (BSPs).
From 1998, and prior to his employment with Toshiba Corporation, Mr. Murphy was Vice President of Program Operations with Information Manufacturing Corporation where he had responsibility for successful, disciplined and repeatable delivery of all major Programs in the Federal, State & Local Government and Commercial markets. In addition, Mr. Murphy played a major role in the execution of strategic technology partnerships, business development, customer care, and the delivery of services associated with High-Volume Document/Data Conversion, Mass Storage, Knowledge Management and Web Access for both government and commercial clients.
From 1989, and prior to his employment with Information Manufacturing Corporation, Mr. Murphy held several key positions with CACI International Inc., a top-ranked Federal Systems Integrator. Mr. Murphy was the Senior Vice President and Manager of CACI’s Enterprise Information Integration Division where he had responsibility for the execution of strategic partnerships, business development, customer education, systems integration and consulting services associated with enterprise-wide Lifecycle Logistics Engineering and Product Data Management (PDM) initiatives for both government and commercial clients.
In a previous position, Mr. Murphy was the Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development for CACI’s Integrated Engineering Support Systems Division. In this capacity, Mr. Murphy planned, coordinated, prioritized and managed the divisions’ strategic and tactical business development initiatives.
Prior to this, Mr. Murphy was the Vice President and Manager of CACI’s Readiness-Oriented Logistics Engineering Division where he had responsibility for execution of technology enabled weapon system logistics engineering consulting services primarily supporting the Department of Defense. In this capacity, Mr. Murphy was the corporate accountable operations individual responsible for CACI’s participation in notable initiatives such as the Bath Iron Works (BIW) Integrated Data Environment (IDE) Pilot, Warner-Robins Air Logistics Center Automated Systems Demonstration (ASD), Navy Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) Implementation, C-GATE (COTS Configuration Management Product) Development and Marketing, and the OSD CALS Object-Oriented Technology (OOT) IDE prototype.
Prior to his employment with CACI, Mr. Murphy was an Engineering Group Supervisor with General Dynamics, Pomona Division where he had responsibility for development of MK 15 PHALANX Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD)/Design Change Notices (DCN’s), evaluation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECP’s), performance of Supply Support analyses and providing assistance to the U.S. and foreign governments in the area of Logistics Support planning. He represented General Dynamics, Pomona Division as a member of the joint MK15 PHALANX CIWS Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Management Team (ILSMT), ILS Interface Working Group (IWG) and Technical Management Team (TMT).
Mr. Murphy holds a B.Sc. in Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
